Thank you!

Based on what I have heard and checked into when I had my 28 it will probably take 750 a side minimum to reliably break 100.

Can any of you 28 Saber owner's help a brotha out and let me know the max height the boat is on a trailer. Also, please state whether or not your trailer has torsion axles or not.

What have you guys done for power with your 28 Cyclones with twins and what were your top speeds? I understand Purple Haze spent much of it's life with 1100's does anyone know how fast it was?

I've got the only 28 Cyclone with twin Small Blocks. The Motors are 383's and are putting out +- 450hp. I'm running bravo drives with -2in Sportmaster lowers and a pair of labbed 30p Bravo 4 blades. I ran 85mph on Radar at the LOTO Shootout this year. (82 on GPS) In years past with different set ups I have seen a little more speed with -2in Imco lowers.

I think 750 a side should easily break it. I was thinking 650 a side should be there,

There have been a couple of boats with 650 a side both ran low to mid 90's from what I have heard.

I suggest you talk to Doug.
I love my boat, and I would like to get it to 90mph. But 100mph in a 28ft with a rounded keel is going to be a handful!! |
i found that just a little tab touching the water stabilizes it out nicely.
