22 Scarab VS 23 Scarab

Has anyone ever been in both the 22 & 23 that can give a true comparison.

I have ... To me the 23 is a much different boat. However not many around.
It feels more solid at high speed and the fit and finish seems to be better all around.

I've owned both. The 23 is twice the boat. Hard to find with 502.

Re: 22 Scarab VS 23 Scarab

Thanks for the info.

I had a 22 in 97' and thought it was a great boat for the size (I always thought it was under powered with a 454). Im looking to purchase a boat in the same size this winter and have only seen the 23 in pics. I know the 22 handled great and if the 23 is better maybe I should look harder at the 23. My main concern is the console between the two seats. does this eat up a lot of room and make it hard to move around in the boat?

Thanks Speed ... I cant find anything wrong with the 23 SCS .. Good point on the console however. It gets lots of attention at the dock however you do give up deck space. The seats are great for sitting but no drop outs ...
But thats ok " It aint no friggin cabin cruiser :-) "

You didn't opt for the garden bathroom option??

My thought was more when hanging in a cove and having access to the dash to change a disk or get a cold beverage from the cooler. From your pics it looks much easyer to get into the front of the cuddy than the 22. (easy access to the cooler thats a good thing!)

but everyones point is well taken about fit & finish, construction and performance and that is why I'm looking at the boat in the first place.

Thanks again for your info.

It is definitly not easy to get under the deck if you are 5-11 and 200 lbs. Lots of room up there but if you dive down there before you move the seat back you are in for a sqeeze.
The finish is great in there . Pillows are well fitted and lots of under deck boxes.

The 23' retailed for about twice the 22'. Most dealers wouldn't order the 23' because of the price difference. The 23' is fantastic if you can find one.

Re: 22 Scarab VS 23 Scarab

Funny thing ....
I recently decided that I needed the extra money for a new house and placed mine up on ebay had price up to 29,500 and pulled the plug on the sale. I just had a hard time parting with it. I have had larger and smaller boats and this thing does most everything better than anything I have had the pleasure of owning or riding in. It has 140hrs on it and it is still like new.
So I guess i found out it would take more than 30k to talk me out of this boat. :D

The 23 SCS is an awesome boat, had one for 5 years with the 502MPI. The console does take up space but you get used to it. Boat was bult very well. Handled great. :drink:

Hey Thanks for the offer and if I do I will keep your login and let you know.
For now I love the SCS I have Just passed 160 hours. Still like new .. I have had several boats and this one is the most fun I have had. runs a solid 78 on GPS and is down right stingy on fuel .... If I ever see something I "need" more I will let you know :-)

Hi 502SCS,

I have not been on line for a while, did find a boat, Not a Scarab. Found a good deal on a Baja 240 sport. Nice boat, lots of room, but it is not a Scarab. I really need more room than the 22 or 23. I hope to be in the marked for a 26 or 29 Scarab this summer.

Speed.

Hey Dale.
I spoke with you in regard to your boat for sale but I ended up purchasing one from Michigan. You sure do have a good looking boat and 650hp in the scs got to be fun.

Well anyway the one I picked up is a nice boat just needs a couple small areas of gelcoat repair and a huge detailing.Good luck with yours.
