1993 38 Thunder, Blue Printed Kevlar hull, 533 CI B&M 420's and Whipple Chilled, Dyno'd @ 720HP with 6.5 lbs of boost. Bravo Drives with 1.36 ratio, Stellings stand off boxes at the highest setting and Multiple prop changes, what kind of cruise and top speeds should this boat be running?

I would expect cruise speeds in the upper 50's to low 60's and a top end in the mid 80's.

This is a repower, came stock with 502ci 415 hp, no boxes. The boat ran 70 and did so for the last 3 yrs, as you all know gettin boring,so I Had the motors freshened with a few extras, right now still workin out some bugs, in fact seems like lots of bugs, just trying to get the optimum out the package. currently running 81 on bravo 4 blade 26's @ 5000 with 6.5 lbs of boost, to be honest I was hoping for more top speed. The boxes are set at the highest setting, could lowering the boxes increase top speed? How about more fuel flow? Lookin for suggestions.

Start making plans for Xr's. Those Bravos will NEVER tolerate that horse with that tub.... Don't wait and waist your money on rebuilds next season. Throw your bravos in the classified section and move them now. Mine sold last week after only about 3 weeks for sale. My boat will sit for the winter w/out drives. Then I'll purchase Xr's come spring.

Good luck.

Since your goal is to pass GLH, may I suggest a big improvement that will increase your top speed with a solid 3-4 mph's: Less drag, less money, where else can you find such a deal for 3-4 mph?

Alpha 1 Gen 1
Predecessor of the Alpha 1 Gen 2, these are hardy little drives. (Take an extended warranty)
