So I pulled my oil pan today- went to put the new one on- and its not even close. This is the story of my life. Are the oil pans different on Mark IV and Mark V?

Hey, go easy on an old fart.....:D

Just got the news that they will outlaw twostrokes that are not fuelinjected from 2013 here on Lake Mead. I haven't read the entire script yet and don't know if a MAD EFI setup on my 8's will qualify or not.. If not, I will have to get myself another three or four engines and start the rigging all over again:mad:

My question is; can't my engines be grandfathered in? Anybody know how this stuff work? Maybe I can get a grant to replace my engines??

I dunno, time will tell I guess... until then I am enjoying the wonderful fumes of my good old two strokes..:D (You guys should see how fast I can clear the dock when I start them cold....)

This is the beauty of having twin engines. $$$$$$$$$$ So you have both a IV and a V?

Yes- when I first got my boat and pulled the port engine (if you look back in the thread you can see how bad it was) I went to great lengths to get a 4 bolt main Gen IV, so everything would match. Then I decided to rebuild the starboard side, and come to find out it was a Mark V( which if I had known that before it would have made my life a lot easier and less expensive). The problem is it has been so long since I did that(2 years) I forgot. :angry-smiley-038:
:stupid:
