Default 2000 AVS Scarab

A firend of mine is looking at a 2000 33 ft AVS Scarab, twin 502s, B1s. Looks sweet, does anyone out there have any info on what to look for be aware of?

How fast is this boat? 75? How much head room in the cutty?
Just what is the AVS hull all about? Is that just the standard Scarab for that year or is it something different/special.

Thanks guys

I believe the AVS is the stepped hull design.

Aft Ventilating Step

Powerboat raved about this hull's rough water ability more than once!

I considered one myself, actually chased a couple down...there were new leftovers for awhile. Last produced 2002 MY

There were some really nice things about them.

and yes, 75 in the right conditions w/502 EFI's

I wanted one of these as well, or even a 38 AVS... They are great boats, fast, roomy, and stylish...

Like all scarabs , no head room in the cabin! If you are over 6' get knee pads cuz you'll be crawling around the cabin. Really I think it's like 4'9"

I had a 1999 33 with same pkg. Boat was great, 72-75mph in a chop not a bad ride, ran a couple of poker runs with it as well, no trouble running. Cabin is short but comfortable with the forward v and seatting sofas. The autometer gauges were acurate and the dash layout was very easy to watch the gauges. Kinda kick myself everynow and then for selling it.
