Default Scarab Windshield Fasteners

Years of pounding and vibration usually causes the outer nut sleeve to loosen, and eventually fall into the water. The originals are chromed brass and ran about $5.00 each, the problem is we can no longer find them, and Wellcraft doesn't carry them anymore.

So two of us are getting ready to order some windshield fasteners, but this time made from stainless. I have found a local shop here can do a production run of 25 pieces, price is $10.00 each, all stainless.

These are the fasteners found on several model Scarabs, this one in particular is from a 1990 34' Wellcraft Scarab Excel. If you're interested send me a message and I'll add to our order. Planning to order before May 15th.

Don't have enough takers to order, sorry, trying to find another type of barrel bolt to work. McMaster has some, but they're too narrow in diameter.

Bummer. Let me know if you find anything that might work.

I have a '90 34' Excel. Is it too late to put in my order?

I haven't ordered them due to the cost, they're about $10 each made from pure stainless. Don't get me wrong, I can get them done, but I just can't justify $120 with all the other projects going on.

If you guys are serious (Jez, Doug, etc.), then I'll get with the guy and we'll put together an order. I can arrange Paypal for payment up front, and it will probably take me about 2 weeks to get them shipped to you all.

Let me know if you're serious, how many, etc.

I'm still in for 3. I don't have paypal so I'll just send you $40 cash if that's OK. I would think $10 would cover shipping. Let me know.
