Re: What does SCARAB mean?
Lots of good responses, but does anyone know the exact reason Larry named it SCARAB?

[QUOTE=chaineddown]SCARAB29,
What kind of performance gains did you get from the standoff box? Handling improvements?[/QUOTE I only have the box raised an inch. I gained between 3 to 5 miles an hour with the box. I think I could raise another inch. I still have not hade a chance to get the new engine propped right. I'm only at 5050 rpm. The boat runs awesome and sticks to the water great! :D Everytime I have run the boat so far I've had 5 to 6 people in it. I'm running in the low 70's right now, but I think once I get it aired out with minimum people and the water is right I should easily run in the upper 70's. I'm selling it next year real cheap and someone out there is going to get a HELL of a deal. I'm wanting to buy a Top Gun. |
Re: What does SCARAB mean?
that boat should run better than that without a doubt, have been in a few stock 502 boats that ran 71-72 as well as mine with twin small blocks ran the same...

Re: What does SCARAB mean?
My Scarab runs 80 mph with a rebuilt 540 Bulldog in it. It has a Bravo 1, 26 pitch prop. It has Eagle racing pistons, a Merlin intake, a 850 cm holley carb, an huge crankshaft, roller rockers, and it is stroked. I just bought a GPS, and I will be testing with it either this weekend or next.

Hey, let me know whats GPS speeds you got out of it. My 509 was dynoed at 633 HP with the stock blower pulley. I'm thinking about changing to a smaller pulley. |
