Default Jasper Engines

Hey all,

I have a question for you. What do you think about the Jasper Engines? I'm looking to replace my exsisting engines (if the blocks are bad) and I was thinking of Jasper. I could also start with two fresh DART little M blocks and build them up. But what do you think of the Jaspers?

Thanks,
Sulfur1

I've sold many Jasper reman units in the automotive world. They are the ONLY ones I trust. Never had a problem with their products. You should tour their plant, see their processes and talk with the employees. Good people, great product.

Would a jasper replacement for a 454 mag 365hp be a non-performance project?

If you do go the jasper route make sure the blocks are painted correctly. I've seen some rust within a year.

I would go with a new engine instead of a reman I have jasper engines in my 29 scarab that someone else had put in the boat and it only had 30 hours on it before I had to rebuild one head. I have not had good luck with them that's just my 02 cents A lot of other people like them I'm redoing both motors right now all new heads with inconel valves and 5 psi procharger with intercooler

trc2,

I have twin 350's right now. But there both out of the boat. Trying to decide to use same blocks or buy two new blocks and build with all new components. I'm looking at stroked 383's and just maybe new drives...maybe. I haven't had a chance to really sit down and figure it all out.

I was looking at the 383 strokers my self complete drop in motors found them for 7000 thousand a piece but the pro chargers were the better bang for the buck I'm doing the chargers and new heads I should be running around 80 to 83 when I'm done

I went with the merc reman long blocks. Tried some crate motors , didn't have good luck. Went back to the mercs , blew one after like 20 hours. Merc paid for everything , no question but was I using mercury oil. The mercs run much better. have like 80 hours on them with new drives and gimbals. Good as new , not a problem!!! 2 year warranty too.
