Hi Mark,
Yeah I think I do have your old boat, I found something in the owners binder with your name on it a few months back. Were you the one who installed the prop locks on the boat, if so do you have the keys? I have the form to request new keys if not. Also did you have any problems shifting the boat into neutral from forward. It seems maybe the cables have gotten stiff and may need replaced, sometimes it even misses neutral and shifts right into reverse. Blackhawks took quite a bit of getting used to, boat idles around 7.5 mph using only one engine. When did you sell the boat? I bought it in june of 2007. Did you do any other engine work? Was the boat kept on the trailer or a lift ( The bottom is in nice shape so I assume it was not kept in the water). So far I have replaced both water pumps - didn't need to, turns out the water pressure gauges were bad. Changed the gas tank sending unit and gauge. Planning on changing all of the gauges, luckily Gaffrig still makes that exact series! I have a few other questions, but that enough for now. Thanks in advance for all of your help!
Joe

P-29 = 90mph

I spoke with the owner of the p-29 that runs 90+ MPH a couple of years ago. He is the General Manager of a Pontac / GMC truck dealership in Alabama. I also own a stock P-29 and manage a GM store.

I know what he did to the boat, but can't remember his name and can't find his #.

Remaped the pcm, installed larger injecter nozzles, changed gear ratio in outdrives, installed pro-chargers.

Mine still runs a GPS 76 mph. and a great boat!!

I will have a gps speedo in my p29 this summer. I'm running 434's that dynoed 740 hp each but we tuned them down to 650 for more reliability. I'm running 6000 rpm with no problem. Midrange is killer. We put about 30 hrs on it last summer, its a blast. We run on the upper chesapeake bay.

You want pics of roosters and air shots - here they are...
Notice the similarity of the number six drive to the Black Hawk.
Both are actually running very flat and straight, although we probably had the six drives timmed a little high here.

Actually with the power of the Sterlings and the type of track, Rick and I could do a large outside loop, then trim down and hammer. Loose a little speed but sure is a croud pleaser!
