Ok this sucks, but I have to ask......what is hook?? and how does effect the boat??:(

a hook is best explained by a depression in the running surface of the hull typically near the stern just forward of the transom. This depression is often caused by improperly supporting the boat while storing it on a trailer. The bunks on a trailer when properly setup should extend beyond the transom so the vertical wall of the transom can help carry the weight of the hull. When the bunks do not extend beyond the transom and the boat sits on them they actually make depressions in the hull and this is called a hook. It can effect the boat in several ways but most often it acts like trim tabs forcing the bow of the boat over into the water. I am sure glassdave could provide some additional insight!

Here is a good picture of me removing the hook from the bottom of my Tahiti Jet. you can see how bad this hook was by the amount of fiberglass I had to use to build it up. This hook I think was caused mostly during the molding process but I am not sure.She is a 74 hull!

Aren't 'hooks' built into the hull as constant stern lift in lieu of trim tabs? As well as the transom trailer issue.
