Default imco on scarab22

Put a 1 inch shorty on a scarab 22, 1.5 ratio with a noise cone, i was running a 27 mirage plus 3 blade labbed, went for a test run last night, could not get up on plane with out working the tabs and trim it was close then it would slip bad, I tryed a 28 pitch mach stern driver 4 blade same prolbem, the last blade in the boat was 29 pitch hydro labbed and it did the same thing, i have a drive shower on it , it is not a imco . I was told this morning to take it off and see what happens, the 27 3 blade worked great last year and i ran upper 70 gps, looking for help or a gun to shoot it and sink it . scott If you go to you tube and search sacrab 22 you can see it running at speed on west river .

What props are you using? I tried a 24 Bravo 4 blade and my boat constantly torqued to the port side making it handle the waves like crap. I tried a 23 Mirage over the weekend and it ran better but it was on the rev limiter, I have a 25 Mirage on the way...

Fastcarab22 try the 5 blade. I talked to Bob at teague and he says that's been the best one for the 29 scarab....How much horse power are you running?
26 spyder-My boat also use to lean when I went to a four blade, but I went to a left hand prop and that took care of the problem....

I have a Mirage 23 pitch and 3 blade stainless... I have no problems out of the hole or with my handling... i just had my prop refinished this season before i went out and i can tell a difference with the prop now after being redone.... My RPM's are running a lil high for my taste though... I am right about 5200 rpm running close to 60-63 mph by GPS

I am considering spinning it left handed. I have been running a right hand 23 Mirage on the rev limiter. It still torques a little. I am waiting on a 25 Mirage (RH) to show up to test this weekend.
I do have a left Bravo 24 and a left 25 Mirage to try.

If I can get a shorty or raise my X it should take care of the prop being too deep and torquing the hull to port.

We'll see what happens after the weekend.

5200 RPM is what you want. You want to be able to kiss the Redline and get the max speed. I presently have a bravo 24 on my 29 that does not let my engine get passed 4900 and that's not great either. The 3 blade took for ever to get me out of the hole. I also have a shorty and that didn't help the leaning problem. The problem was resolved when I went to a left hand prop.....Fountains also seem to have this problem.
