For that price for a single, I'd be looking for a spotless engine, drive, and instruments and very good condition gelcoat.

If it's truely spotless and turnkey, the money isn't the major factor though. I learned that the hard way... bought an ST for $8k because it was such a great "deal" but with one thing after another, I now have another $7k into her. I let the current market twist my perception and get so excited over the "deal" that I didn't step back and consider condition enough, and it turns out I would have been much happier buying one at the "high" price end than gambling on one that was "ok" and then finding out I wouldn't really be happy until everything is redone. Don't get excited by a low price boat and trick yourself into saying "I can live with that" if you'll really end up replacing all those little imperfections over time anyway. When it's all said and done to bring mine to perfect with 0 hour engines and drives will bring the cost up to 31k.

I'd verify that before purchasing. I have an '86 Nova II, same hull, different cabin configuration and taller windshield, with twin 350's and get 54mph on gps @ 4500ft. These are very heavy boats, and I really doubt a single 330hp big block is going to push it to 58. You'd be better off finding a nice one with twins, much better control especially around the dock. Price is too high, I gave $10K for mine and its unmolested and nearly mint.
