making exaust headers

making exaust headers
i have a question, why cant i make my own headers by buying a pair of hedman or hooker headers and tapping in a water line on the tubes instead of paying $5000 for marine exaust? normal headers are only around $200 and all pumbing about $100 . this would save me alot of money .........just asking?

Marine is water jacketed (2 pipes)
If you mixed in the water where it bolts up to the head you would get water reversion. If you tapped it down farther it would get to hot before the place you tapped it.
