Default 78 30 scarab, what to look for

Brother in law looking at boat, wondering what to look for, typical problems in these. Hull sides seem really bouncy when you thump them, transom seems hard. These are known for rot correct? He doesn't want a project, just liked looks and price. I know a few of you guys have done these.

tranom and stringer rot are the number one killer of wellcrafts. a 78 anything will probably need some tlc...
