Best 4 blade prop for a 7.4
#1
Anyone have a good idea for a 4 blade prop to run on my 90 21' scarab exel 7.4? I'm turning 5000 rpm (trimmed) on a 23p quicksilver. It has been a great prop for top end. Good getting on plane, good midrange and top end. I wanted to also get a 4 blade for it for handling purposes without loosing too much top end. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Do you have a mag or a peanut 7.4 (454)? If its a mag then you want to run between 4600 and 5000 RPM--in a Bravo 1 prop I would run a 24P (they are typically pitched closer to 23p)--a 22P will be too small.
IF you have a peanut 454 then your RPM range is 4200-4600 and you may have to increase your pitch to a 26P Bravo 1 to get the RPM's down.
