I figure someone on here must have the same or similar set up that i want to get. I have a 95 29 scarab with the 502 and am looking to put a blower on it. Right now with a full icechest 2 people and full tank of gas and a dinged up 23p prop im getting 66mph at wot. What kind of gains you think i will get by adding a blower and any recomendations on what brand etc?

supposedly my motor has 500hp as it is right now dont know if thats bull**** or not but who knows.. damn 75 sounds a lot better then what im getting now.. any drawbacks to adding a blower i was reading in some places you can cruise at lower rpm therefore being better on the motor.. But seems as everytime you make more hp more crap goes wrong

Hey now if you are going to build a motor to go fast build it right. but if you are going to build a 502 use a b&m 250 blower it will give you a 8 to 10 mph with a single 1050 dominator or two 950 dominators. I ran 85 with a 496 and a 26 pitch 4 blade prop..... 685 hp good Luck and have fun......

I have a 1995 29 as well.
I bought it in 2005 with a stock HP500 and it did about 65-66 mph with a labbed 25" mirage
I then built the motor, dropped the c/r to 8.4:1, installed a ProCharger, lots of tuning, and XR drive and got up to about 78 mph with a 28" bravo. Actually hit 79.6 twice!
I dynoed the motor and got 713 Hp and 714 Torque
I since took the ProCharger off a couple of years later to try and sell the boat, but alas... I still own it.
I now have the motor out and am freshening it up with a bit lumpyer cam, and the ProCharger is going back on. I'm trying to get to 80
