Default 33 avs with DPX 600 ?'s

I know everyone says the 33's with the DPX 600's and volvo drives is a great running package. My question is, are there parts still available for these drives if you have a problem with them? I am considering looking at one, but don't want to get into something that no longer has parts available.
The other option is to try and figure out how to convert to bravo XR's as an option. I have not looked at the drives, but would think there would be a way to convert?

Thanks
Mike

I currently own a 33 w/ the 600 DPX package. To answer your question accurately depends. Does the boat you are looking at have DPX-Rs or DPX-As? The Rs currently still have MOST parts available. The As currently still have all parts available. The parts that are currently NLA for the Rs are parts that you would be least likely to need to ever replace which are the inner propshaft and the vertical shaft.

As for conversion, anything can be done but the cutouts from the Volvo to the Bravo are different.

Thanks for the feedback. I will find out the style of drives. Looking at going back to a V after 10 years of being in a cat. The wife likes the creature comforts of all my friends V's and the 33 is one that I have been looking at.

They are definitely a fun boat w/ the 600 DPX package. The drives are pretty stout also, mine had about 400 hours on them before I started having some issues. Which, with that being said would be a considering factor. If the hours are high and the drives have never been touched, the rebuild cost is a little painful.
