So I dont want to start a "power loading" thread but I need some help. I have the 22 Scarab and whenever I load on the trailer the bow ends up about 2-3 inches from the roller.
I get it all the way up against the roller, winch tight and when I get to the rigging lane it is like 2-3 inches away.
I did get it once but no idea how. I have tried pulling in farther, powering on and I need some sugestions.

Is it a steep launch ramp?
My 30" scarab has done that to me a couple times on a steep ramp, it is the angle of the keel when floating and then tips up when on the trailer leaving a gap on the bow roller.
I now winch a little further than it seems I should on the steeper ramps and it works out great

First off I have a winch STRAP not a CABLE, should I change?
It is a steep ramp and that was one of my thoughts was as I pull out the boat sits back causing the boat to raise away from the stop so to speak.
I always hook the safety chain before pulling out of the water.
I dont know that I can winch it up further because I tighten the u-bolt up to the stop now.

my bow eye is always above the bow stop
I have never had a boat that has the winch mounted too low to pull the eye above the stop and I prefer the straps over cables just make sure you have a heavy duty strap and it is in good condition
of course you need to pull it out of the water slowly also

Does your strap come off the winch on the bottom side or the top side?
Mine used to do something similar when I had the strap coming off the winch on the bottom. Unwound and re-wound it so that it comes off the top of the drum and it doesn't do it anymore.
