Length: 34 ScarabIII
Engine:2-454 Mers Mags (stock /400hrs)
Horsepower: 365 a side
Outdrive: Bravos w/x dim cut 2" higher then stock
Prop: 24' B1's
Top Speed: 60
I jacked my X dim up two inches when i did my transom last year and it has really changed the boat drastically. Not sure if it was the new X dim or the ability to spin a better prop but the boat rides totally different now. Planes better, rides better, has about ten mph higher cruise speed and balances better with trim. My boat was originally equipped with crappy Bennet trim tabs and i picked up a set of K planes, due to time constraints this spring with wanting to get the boat in the water i was unable to get the new tabs ready in time so i put the old Bennets back on for the season. Truth be told i have had the boat out in some pretty rough (realistically fours) and the boat simply did not need them, may not even bother to put them on. Number wise i think i picked up maybe two or three mph in top end and roughly ten mph in cruise, but again i think the numbers are more reflective of the ability to spin a better prop rather then just the change in X dim.
This winter i am freshening up the power and bring them up to the 450-500 range. I have a set of 26" Hydros to try then.
