Issue with 22' at WOT
 

Finally got my 22 with stock 454 to run at 140 degrees steady by installing a transom external pickup (turns out the intake tube on the bravo drive wasn't allowing enough water).

So now I'm only running 4100RPM at WOT with a rebuild 454. MSD distributor, holley carb, stock heads and cam.

Prop is a brand new 24P 4 blade Mirage. Runs 58.5 mph.

I'm thinking I should go to the 23P Mirage plus? But I probably need to pick up 500 rpms?

Is there something I'm missing since others with this setup are running 25P mirages and getting close to 70mph?
