I have never seen this model before but it is 28ft with twin 454 mags.....claiming 81 mph????

I was just wondering how far off the speed # really is.

I have the same Scarab 28XLT.

With the 454MAG´s the Boat runs 108km/h and now with 502EFI´s it runs 118km/h.

If propped correctly, spinning 5000, w/1.5:1 drive ratio, theoretical top speed w/23p props, is 72.6 ....To achieve 81mph, you would need 12% positive slip...

Yes, you need a river with a own speed of 10mph, than you have the 80mph on GPS. :-)

You can't really believe the ad, especially since it says twin magnum outboards. Liars or ignorant ? It doesn't really matter, it's innaccurate info.

It's probably 80 on the wish-meter speedo, and mid70s on a GPS.

I honestly didn't think mid 70's....I guess I am comparing it to my old formula 272. Was 454 385hp mags and best speed i ever saw with 2 people and no fuel or gear was 68 gps.

Maybe the scarab hull is faster. I don't know. I am new to scarab. I was just really wondering what kind of performance #'s this boat may really have.

i am not trying to break balls or anything, I just didn't know. but no chance of breaking 80 huh?
