y-pipe bypass
Proud new owner of a '98 Scarab with a 454. I bought a y-pipe bypass plug from cp performance. The question I have is should I rotate the y-pipe upward as to not cause leakage of the plug? The plug is a metal insert secured by hose clamps. A few configurations exists: (1) Keep it the same and the plug is sitting underneath the pipe in a downward configuration. I would insert the plug underneath. Would water collect in this area? (2) Rotate the y-pipe sideways as to the plugged part is off to the side (3) Rotate the y-pipe upward with the assumption less water will reach this area.
How is this typically done?
