thinking of selling my Scarab 22. found a bigger boat for a great deal and can't get it off my mind! Anyways, kicking it around. Have done some upgrades and the engine is a low hour 496 stroker motor, full roller, girdled, arp studs all over, bravo 1, 24p stainless 4 blade, dual head shower, trim tabs, trailer is an 04 model. Like I said, have not made up my mind but kicking it around as this other boat is a gem and about 11 feet longer with cabin and twin fresh 502 efi's

EVERYONE on this forum is going to tell you to go for it. Bigger boat, more power....On the surface there isnt a reason to not go for it but only you know your finances. Is your Scarab paid off? Will you be financing the new boat? Can you afford the new payments, fuel bill, insurance and maintenance? If the answer is yes then its a no brainer--sell the Scarab! If not then hold onto the smaller boat which is (probably) paid off and wait until you can afford the bigger boat and all the costs associated with owing it.

no mine isn't paid off
but I got into it pretty nice so I can sell it pretty fast if needed. I hear what you are saying. The power addiction has me pretty bad with my history of hot rods, top fuel engine builder, diesel performance company owner (selling company now), so its in the blood. The boat is here and owned by a friend of mine who is just as anal retentive as I am with maintaining his toys.

on the other hand, I probably should wait until I move back up north so I have better water choices before I buy a bigger boat. I know there is sweet boating near me (6 plus hour drive to havasu, powell etc) but here in NM I am limited so the smaller boat is in reality the better choice for this area. if I had waited 1 week I would have found out Ryan was selling his boat and I would have jumped all over it like a fat kid on a krispy creme
