Default trim gauge

can anyone give me some pointers as to what to test on my trim gauge for a bravo 1? it is reading full up all the time. having a working gauge would be nice to keep things trimmed out. also going to install trim gauge for the tabs in the near future. any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

found the problem. broken wire near the gimbal. now time to replace limit switch and sending unit. anyone shed some light on this without having to pull the lower?
