Sorry to dig up an old thread but by twist of fate ended up with a 1989 scarab 31 with 555ci 750hp motors. It's a runner!!!

That sounds real nice.
Idle sounds a little fast for shifting though. I hope you had the sticks forward a little.

yah idle was up around 1100 rpm. Haven't had a chance to set up a strong idle yet. Wasn't banging going into gear tho

Haven't got the props figured out yet. Motors are 555ci 10.9 compression, AFR 315 cnc heads and .714 solid roller cams. 1.36 gear xz drives. Its been 97 mph with labbed 27p hydromotive 4 blades at 5800 rpm but those props are trashed now so going to try a few other options. Season is running short so well see
