Yea they will but if you look at the imco plates they fit up against the upper. the plates you made sit against that hole, and are about 1" lower than were the imco and sportmaster plates sit, and didnt know if that would make things squarlly with the water to the props back there..

Yeah Joe ... 12 mph would be nice ! I'll be happy with 4 or 5 ... drives were set @ 6 inches ... the real test is getting on plane ... this boat has always had a little trouble ... 3 blades... ha ha ... forget it ! 4 blade bravos ... ok with some blow out just as it rolls over then hooks up 200 -300 feet later . That why I went with the p5x hydros ... had good results with them on my Nova ... with better speed numbers than the bravo's .

Here is a picture of the plates Imco provided to cover the open area @ the rear of the gear case . Sportmaster may be a little different ?

Never had an issue with the dual tie bars ... as long as there adjusted the same ...they should not bind .

Thanks Bob....sorry for the little thread hyjack, the boat is looking great Bob....Joe

Hey bob
It's mike I met you and bill up at your house when I was picking up parts from him. I just saw this thread. You guys finish up bills SVL yet? I just finished getting mine all together 3 weeks ago. Let me know when you guys come out and head south alittle bit and I'll meet up with you... Boat looks just as good In person as it does in the pics.

JJs, mmmmm. I could use a pain in the asss. We are doing a funrun this weekend mickey to middle river than up to chesepeake inn if you want to play.

mickeymcclgn 05-14-2013 08:11 PM

I'm more in the middle bay out of the bodkin. I can meet you in middle river and run up to the inn. You have any details? And Saturday? Boat cruises 50 and can run mid 70s not as fast as most of you guys but not hateful for a 24.

blue thunder 05-14-2013 08:19 PM

We should be as sunset cove (which use to be the wild duck) on the middle river before noon. Than lunch and off to chesepeake in. 15-20 boats estimated. I think Bob will be there just might not be in his boat if the shorties won't plane. Bill has a wedding I think so no boating for him. I have a old blue/white scarab. Say hi if you stop by.

mickeymcclgn 05-14-2013 08:28 PM

Count me in, I'll definitely come over. Been looking for an excuse to get a slushy crushy from sunset this year. Bills SV done yet? We kind of hijacked bobs thread here.

Bob's use to squaters hogging up his space.... :party-smiley-004: SVL is still in process.

mickeymcclgn 05-14-2013 08:45 PM

I'm noticing, when I was up there he was getting ready to pull the scarab out to fit the fountain in, 3 days later it was snowing. Hopefully sat should be a decent tempature. Bill must be building a work of art in there. Someone needs to get him a mailbox over there.

We have been receiving mail and packages with this name and our address for months ! lol ... He is getting closer ... still has to make tail pipes and get the seats and cockpit finished . All 3 pumps were shot for the tabs and drive ... thought they might be good ... nah ! We powered it up ... everything except the smartcraft was junk due to the salt water bath it received while racing a few years ago . GPS ... prop slip indicator ...vhf radio ... just about everything needed replaced .

mickeymcclgn 05-15-2013 11:44 AM

Looks like its making good progress. What time are you putting the boat in today?

mickeymcclgn 05-15-2013 08:29 PM

I'll be out after 2 on Friday. I think I'm going to slip out of work early cough cough "going to the office for paperwork" not sure where you plan on running. If you can get on plane you gonna bring it out Saturday?

tcwcar 05-15-2013 08:56 PM

The boat ran out of prop @ 2lbs of boost 2/3 rds throttle ... 90 mph @ 6000 rpm . I don't think it will plane out with 4 blades ... took a while with the 5's but did get there .

Ordered a new set of props ... went up 2 pitch sizes.

The boat is going to be faster ... just have to dial in the set-up . No issues . Handled well !

Bob was going to follow your led, had a line on 29 p5s he was going to swap me for my 32 bravos, thought they be a little small for me and you, just waiting to see how they worked out for you, guess got my answer.. hydros worked great on my checkmate, stern lifting prop, my Mystique is so ass heavy, i think that where some of the propose comes from, Dustin from whipple told me when i get this done i should go up 4 to 6 pitch sizes from my stock 28s...will see i guess, i think your a little lighter then me to, I'm 7800 dry weight, and yours has a pad bottom, mine a vee all the way back, but mines also got the transom notched...a lot of variables there..heck you only used them for a minute can't you send them back, say they didn't work...:party-smiley-004:

The P5X's are bow lifting round ear design ... Standard P5's would never work on mine . I was trying to take the 30 bravo numbers ... add some rpm for the higher X and subtract for the extra blade . Thought the 29's would be close ... lol ... not the first time I was wrong . The slip went up 4 % also ... never was very good @ math !

As big a prop as you guys are running I don't have enough fingers and toes to count that high.

Baja226sport 05-17-2013 04:40 PM

Well......when you guys are headed to the Inn give it a good run for me when you hit the beginning of the Elk River just after the light house. I will be sitting on the deck staring out there and drooling when you go by!!! :lolhit:

TooTall 05-17-2013 09:57 PM

very nice !

[QUOTE=737jetmech;3926582]The boat is going to be faster ... just have to dial in the set-up . No issues . Handled well ![/QUOT

Ran the boat this weekend on a local fun run with the 32 bravos ... 1 ' - 2 ' chop ... saw 94.7 before I got out of it @ 5500 ... might of had 1 or 2 hundred rpm still on the table ? Got scared had a few waves @ a 45 degree angle causing some rolling off the pad . Did not think the boat would get on plane using the 4 blades ... I was wrong again ! With the standard lowers the boat would only run 88 - 89 using the 32 bravo's . Slip number is 12.6 % in the chop ... 17.8 % flat water . Flat water is not my friend . Have a set of 31 P5X's coming ... should be able to lower the slip a % or 2 ... time will tell ! The -2 shortys helped free up the boat ... running the standard lowers last season my best speed was 91-92 on the best day with 30 bravo's ... most days 89 - 90 mph . So maybe 96 or 97 mph ? will have to see with a few more props to test .

mickeymcclgn 05-20-2013 11:51 AM

Boat looked real good bob! It did take a min to get on plane I was maybe 2-3 minutes behind you, it was throwing a nice tail too. Thanks again for inviting us out. Definitely do it again. We hit alittle rain about 5 minutes from our pier, i did hit 73 on the GPS though. Fastest the boats been since I've owned it lol.

Happy new year Jet you have not posted lately. You still have your Viper. Never read any final numbers on the p5x 31 props
