Looks great and nice work!
What size pulley are you running at 5psi? Are you running the 731cam or is that Blue Thunder? |

3.34 pulley ... 731 works really well ... last year I upgraded to a custom Teague blower cam ... it's used in the 800 SC ... grind fall's between the 741 and the 651 similar to Cranes 139661 grind

I have the same pulleys on my 250's and finalizing some custom cams this week. Probably run NA for the first half of the season then put the blowers on my 454's. What was your compression ratio if you don't mind me asking? |

Wow what a great job you have done. Love it!

I can't watch the video for some reason but how loud is it with the dry tails?
|
This boat is beautiful!! I got to stop by and check it out last year. It is surely loved in every way by it's owner, just as they all should be!!!
And to top it off jetmech is a very friendly and intelligent guy. I hope mine can be 1/2 this nice some day! |

Thank you for the kind words ... -2 imco's should be here next week . My Nova ST gained 6 mph after raising drives 1.5 inches . Hope the Scarab responds well to the change ... otherwise I'll be selling a pair of -2 lowers ... :eekdrop:
Have not touched my boat all winter ... been helping a friend rig his SVL Lavey and my brother inlaw just bought a 35 Fountain ... plenty of work ... just not on my boat ! :) My boat has the shrink wrap . |
job well done! nice boat!
|

-2 Shortys ready to install and hopefully test in the next few weeks ... The stock 2" studs were to short ... waiting for Imco to send me 1/4 " longer ones . Why don't they just include them with the cases ??? wtf!
|
I can't wait to see what they do for you!

Probably my last legitimate jab at Jetmech. If he can get on plane with the shorties he'll be going past me like I'm standing still. Great work as always Bob! |

Got the boat out of storage today . Drives installed and trim tab plates . Prop shafts are now 4 " below running surface .
Hope to test one day this week . |
Bob do you have any problem with the duel tie bars binding up, was going to do the same set up, but read on here about if the tie bars are not on the same pivot center they could bind up. also I see you your using the Imco plates at the back of the drive, I have a set of those for my Xr sportmasters, but when I mount them I still have that hole underneath the plate were the zinc would mount, i'm I missing a piece to cover that hole, or you just use it with that hole open like that, my thought it would slow you down with the water going up in there.... By the way they look great on there, hope they work out for you, Thunder told me he picked up 12mph when he raised X dimension on his scarab, even if you get half of that, it should put you in triple numbers:evilb:

Yeah Joe ... 12 mph would be nice ! I'll be happy with 4 or 5 ... drives were set @ 6 inches ... the real test is getting on plane ... this boat has always had a little trouble ... 3 blades... ha ha ... forget it ! 4 blade bravos ... ok with some blow out just as it rolls over then hooks up 200 -300 feet later . That why I went with the p5x hydros ... had good results with them on my Nova ... with better speed numbers than the bravo's .
Here is a picture of the plates Imco provided to cover the open area @ the rear of the gear case . Sportmaster may be a little different ? Never had an issue with the dual tie bars ... as long as there adjusted the same ...they should not bind . |
