Picked up these P5X Hydro's ... Need to turn 5800 - 5900 ... 29's should work ... with the higher prop shafts . If not I have a base line .

So if your best is 93.6 and this blue thunder you speak of goes 94, does that mean in the vid you were fixin to get walked??

Probably my last legitimate jab at Jetmech. If he can get on plane with the shorties he'll be going past me like I'm standing still. Great work as always Bob!

Got the boat out of storage today . Drives installed and trim tab plates . Prop shafts are now 4 " below running surface .

Hope to test one day this week .

Bob do you have any problem with the duel tie bars binding up, was going to do the same set up, but read on here about if the tie bars are not on the same pivot center they could bind up. also I see you your using the Imco plates at the back of the drive, I have a set of those for my Xr sportmasters, but when I mount them I still have that hole underneath the plate were the zinc would mount, i'm I missing a piece to cover that hole, or you just use it with that hole open like that, my thought it would slow you down with the water going up in there.... By the way they look great on there, hope they work out for you, Thunder told me he picked up 12mph when he raised X dimension on his scarab, even if you get half of that, it should put you in triple numbers

Those plates I had made should be covering the cavity, no?

Yeah Joe ... 12 mph would be nice ! I'll be happy with 4 or 5 ... drives were set @ 6 inches ... the real test is getting on plane ... this boat has always had a little trouble ... 3 blades... ha ha ... forget it ! 4 blade bravos ... ok with some blow out just as it rolls over then hooks up 200 -300 feet later . That why I went with the p5x hydros ... had good results with them on my Nova ... with better speed numbers than the bravo's .

Here is a picture of the plates Imco provided to cover the open area @ the rear of the gear case . Sportmaster may be a little different ?

Never had an issue with the dual tie bars ... as long as there adjusted the same ...they should not bind .
