Default (-2") imco shorty on 29.5 scarab

Has anyone ran a -2" shorty on a single engine 502 with good feed back?? Like mph gain? Or had any trouble with them getting up on plain?

I heard that most Scarab 29's were turds that couldnt get out of their own way.

I was yanking his chain. I wouldnt mind having a single 29, Mikes runs like a champ and rides extremely smooth.

01scarab29. I wouldn't say they are turds, they are by no means rockets, but they ride very good and are good on fuel. I switched out a set of 23 mirages for a set of 22 Mach 4 blade props on a buddy's boat. He has 350 fuel injected motors and runs around 65-67 with it. Back to the props, this boat handles like crap with those 4 blades, never tried any other brands. I wouldn't mind finding out a nice 4 blade for him tho. To get his cruise up. As far as a shorty lower on a single I talked to a guy 3 years ago that has a 29 scarab with a hp500 n was running 68 all day the when getting a -2 shorty picked up to 71. He said he noticed a stable plus 2 mph but would say he gained 3.... Hope this helps fellas.
