Im guessing the boat will be stored on the trailer, When you park it, take a jack, or lower the nose, throw a couple blocks under the end of the transom, then lift the nose of the trailer just enough to take the weight off the back, Your bunks end before the transom and if it sits that way for a while it can develope a hook in the bottom.

Thanks or the info phragle. I was thinking the same thing when I first saw the trailer, so when we pulled the boat off the trailer I checked out the bottom of the boat and it's really straight. But doing what you're saying would ensure it wouldn't develop. Thanks 502ss, I was wanting to keep a simple paint job on this boat and not use any vinyl, but it's just a little plain I think. BTW, I like the way your boat turned out. And it looked nice originally! Here's a photo from the front. Those old dayton style axles were rebuilt in the last few years, and the surge brakes work great. They've kind of grown on me. They're so ugly they're almost cool...

Looking for ideas on where to mount my trans cooler line discharges. We were thinking maybe on the starboard side near the bilge discharge, so we would could look back and see it. But I don't know that that is necessary, out the back? Thoughts?
By the way, My engine guy has already broken in the cam on the port engine, so may be getting it this afternoon. Starboard may be wednesday or so. He still has to put it together.

where is the water pick up, is part of the engine cooling or it goes right to the trans cooler from an external pick up? if it is only cooling the transmission i would have it come out on top of your out drive to keep that cool as well like a drive shower.

The water pickup for the transmisisons comes out of the sea water pump (I think thats what you call it)

so it goes directly to the transmissions? if that is the case i would have it dump out on the drives however it is always a good way to tell if you are pumping water then you can see it.

Thanks, I'll have to get some thru hulls fittings for that. Meanwhile the port engine is back. The engine guy broke in the cam for me. We've gotta get all the hardware bolted to it and get it put back in the boat. The starboard engine oughta be back about wed-thurs. He had to replace all the bearings and the pistons due to the cam catastrophe. I was only able to spend less than an hour on the boat today, been real busy with work lately, by the way, I'm in the body shop business if you haven't guessed yet. I sealed the drain holes in the bilge with epoxy for the second time. I just want to be sure we don't get any more rot in the stringers or bulkheads later.
I'm still wondering about the paint. We havent painted the stripe on the right side. I'm seriously considering having no stripes on the hull...

A little color to break it up would be good.
