Great boat and worth the hunt. My 26 went to Sweden. Current owner sent me a video of a poker run he was in. The large Zodiac type boats take passengers that want to participate but don't have a boat.

I recently saw one in Canada listed somewhere for somewhere in the 40s I think but can't find the listing now.
Good luck with your search

Tides23,
I wish you would have nailed one down back in 2008 when you were looking. The number 2,3 and 6 boats are in Sweden. The number 2 boat that was listed in Canada was Joe Malich's boat and it was the first F-1 that got exported to Sweden. Ex. Bob Christie's unique number 1 boat is in the South, Alabama? Probably not for sale, but doesn't hurt to ask. Heard stories that the 4 & 5 boats have had some damage to them, but I haven't had that verified and don't know of their whereabouts.
Dan MacNamara and his partner Lance Ware are building a new Larry Smith straight-v at Dan's shop Archer Marine in California. They are using the same mold the F-1's were done in, but without the step insert. They choose to do the non-step since their belief is that it's a better running hull, especially with bigger power. Follow their build at their Team-Archer-Marine Facebook page and maybe place an order with them? They started a thread here on OSO, but it slowed down after their Facebook page got going: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...th-26-a-7.html
The number 2 boat in Sweden now has a normal aspirated 670 hp motor and the owner hopes to reach +90 mph with it. Also posting a link below to a video from 2009 when Joe Malich raced the number 2 boat in San Diego. He couldn't keep up with the Team Coyote 1995 straight-v Larry Smith, which in all fairness had quite a bit more horsepower. It's a good study in how the two designs behave though.

Thanks for clarifying Dan. I wrongly assumed Lance was part of Speedster Powerboats since Eric Colby claimed so in an article here on OSO. So very glad You saved the 26 mold and resurrected this fantastic looking and running design.

Good Afternoon Sir,
Is the 26 LS scarab your referring to for sale in canada the all red one with graphics?
And with mentioning the number 4 and 5 26' scarab being in accidents, do you know any info? I have a 26 and just wanted to know a little bit of information.
Thank you for your time
Brad
