Default ?'s on a Scarab 302 Sport CC

I am looking at getting into a 302 center console. I boat in Lake Erie, and was wondering on the ride, how it handles big chop, larger waves and any other advice anyone can give on the hull. Boat has twin 225 hp outboards.

The 302 is built on the old Scarab 30 hull and is probably as good as you will find for an old school offshore hull. There are newer hulls that may be lighter or faster but the ride quality will be about as good as you will find . The big problem with those boats though is soft, separated floors and the occasional rotted stringers or transom. If you don't know how to check for these things, hire a surveyor to look over the boat, it could save you mucho heartache and cash in the long run.

I did a good bit of research then wife decided last minute she wanted sunpad!! Argh.. Had 300xs's too

Make sure you get survey and check floor. Lots got soft and waterlogged, good ride! a lil heavy for the size which helps in that dept but not speed. 300xs would have been 68-70. So twin 225 will be high 50s or around max at 60? Never actually rode in one but that was by research and talked to a few who had.

I was calling to put offer on the one I was looking at then Sunday, wife finally started looking at pics.. But then we both decided on my 33 ol, so turned out well, but wanted those 300s!!

It has twin Johnson ocean pro 225. I am a little fearful of them, but complete rebuild with about 130 hrs on it. Broker said compression good on all cylinders but 1, "a tad outside of normal" on 1 engine other is fine. Any thoughts?
