29 Scarab has a small cockpit compared to the PQ, now the 31 on the other hand is much more comparable and has more room than both the 29 Scarab and PQ BUT the PQ cabin feels more roomy to me.

Best advice is to go see first hand each model..

If your looking at 29s be sure to look at the Scarab P-29 with Black Hawk Surface drives. It won't have as much room in it but I bet it will have about everything else you would want. Mid to upper 70s mph on 350mags.

+1 on the 31'. I had a 1993 31' with a Kevlar hull. It would break into the 70's with 502 mags. The ride was very comparable to my 38' I have now (80-90% as good?). I remember driving a 28' Nordic and laughing at how bad it rode compared to my 31' Scarab . Do realize your talking about a twin big block boat (31') vs. a twin small block or single big block boat (29'), so fuel consumption is a big difference. The 31' has 4'6" of head room in the cabin vs. the 29's 4'0". That was the deal breaker when I looked at a P-29 back in 2001.(which is why I went to a 31")- Mike

+1 on the 31 scarab very under rated boat as long as cabin head room isn't a big concern. Other than that cabin is fairly comfortable. Lots of room in the cockpit. I loved mine, had 502's at around 480hp. Ran 78mph with labbed 28p bravo's
