Is it the one with blue and yellow grafixs and a westerbeke 3.0 generator painted blue and mounted in front of the motors on a custom platform?

That's sharp! Would be interested to hear more about it... Speeds with 700's?

I think that is the one. I spoke to him a few years back. He paid almost $10,000 for the Generator (westerbeke 3.0) including installation. It was custom mounted to match the blue Mercury racing motors

He may have had to replace the gen but boat came from factory with av and gen.
I do not know about speed will find out. I know this boat with 575s did not perform as planned.
It is a beautiful boat and as someone else said a wave crusher

Can you fill in some of the details? What are the main features of the AVS hulls and what are the benefits and costs? Rookie is interested in a 38.

What specifically are you trying to learn?

The benefit of the vented hull over conventional vee prior to 98, was/is speed and efficiency. Construction techniques/materials were also a little better in the AVS than some of the previous years. Either way, older or newer, condition of particular boat aside, they are very capable boats.

Well, I finally got mine. I found a 1998 38 Scarab AVS. Can someone remind me how to post pictures from say photobucket?
