Default School me on the Scarab Super Sports please!

I have been saving money to wade into the waters for a bit and ran across a project I think will be good for me but I need some info.

boat is an 88 Scarab Super Sport 34' with twin 275 Rude's. Boat owner had investments tank and had taken it to a shop to be striped and painted. its been 3 years and the owner/and shop are ready to move the boat...

in doing research it is all over the place. Some say it was a great hull for fishing, family and play, others say the hull sucks and are known for Rot. I have always redone boats, fiberglass and transoms dont scare me. but some people say these boats came with weak stringers (that can be fixed).

My plan would be to take this boat, drop the Evinrudes, throw on a pair of verado 350's and have a great ocean, I like the 250 gallon fuel tank, even with 350's if I get worse case 1mpg I still have some amazing range, then with the 4 strokes I still have a great lake all over boat.

since the boat is stripped I was planning on finding Rot and repairing, PLUS strengthening the transom (pull wood reset/reinforce stringers and pour arjay.) Anything else I should look for?

how do these hulls do? any super sport owners out there?

I had a friend that had a very rare inboard outboard. and his stringers were wet. and they sold the parts and scrapped the hull. I have an 86 scarab panther that the stringers in the stern were replaced as well as the transom. I put more into it than the boat is worth but I love scarab's
if it is a reasonable deal and you can do glass work pull the trigger on it. some of the older scarabs had an inner liner for the deck you can remove it fix whatever is wet and put back together

Like he said they get rotten. On my 96 I had to redo the transom and stringers.
