Sweet, thanx for the info!

Don't think I'd go any higher than even with the bottom not having a notch. Different boat I know but I'm even with the bottom, with a notch and boxes and it takes forever to plane. Runs great once you get it there though

My buddy had hull #2 - 382 with 700 nxts and it took forever to get it on plane. He Was the one that started me asking the question......he sent it packin!

We did a 99 AVS with 900 HP number Vs and to get the boat on plane with a standard Wellcraft cabin and side by side set up we were 1.5 inches below the bottom no boxes if you go with the stand off box you might be able to raise it another 1 inch if its a 12 inch standoff box. just remember that you can always go down deeper with spacers but you cant go higher so start high . We also did a 96 straight bottom with VIs and went a .5 inch above the bottom but that was numbers VIs big difference between a VI and a V.

I'm doing a conversion setup also and researching heights for my trs - ssm 1V setup. With no boxes I'm thinking for 1" below bottom but am tempted to raise to even with bottom and run heavy prop cup and fight it up on plane.boats a 35 cafe. Anyadvise would be muchly appreciated.

I would stay with the 1 inch below the bottom you wont stand a chance of getting on plane at level with the bottom that Cigarette has a heavy cabin.

We had an old miami vice 38 scarab with 4s years ago with big power took some patience to get her planing but once it hooked she took off like bullet. I was assuming this would act similar. What do you suggest
