Default Just bought a 33 AVS with 500 EFIs

I bought a 33 AVS with 500 EFIs. Does anyone else have this set up and what props are you running with what speeds. I got this boat at the end of last year and it came with 32p Bravo ones, the previous owner told me I should see 84. I only drove it 2 times last year before I put it away, the props had nics on them and I didn't want to beat the **** out of it until my marina had a chance to go through the motors. The fastest I've seen was 79 on the test drive, but wasn't a long drive. The props are at BBlades right now, but I might buy a second pair and I wanted to make sure I'm using the best pitch.

Scarab AVS 33 will run:
454 MPI 71 mph~
502 MPI 76 mph
500HP of 500EFI 82 mph
600 DPX 92 mph
Boat was in powerboat magazines (I have). They loved the boat.

I think you are over proped. I believe that boat should be 30P. What RPM are you turning?

Maybe, unless somebody labbed them and possibly turned them down.

When I had my carb'd 500 HP 33 I was running labbed and non-labbed 30 Bravos. With labbed you may see a shade over 82 but you will be hard pressed for 84. The last few ticks dont come that quick either, so you have to stay in it a bit.

The 32s are labbed, I didn't push the boat that hard because, I bought it at the end of the year and drove it twice before I put it away. I wanted my mechanics to go through it be fore I pushed it. The info I have is from the previous owner and he said he was pushing 5100 at top end. I just want to come out swinging next year, I'm gonna buy a set of labbed 30s also.

I have a 99 Scarab 33 AVS, 500 efis that are stock w imco powerflow exhaust. Boat came with unknown 28 mercs. Ran 78 ish at wot, bought a set of Labbed 30's used, (were done by bblades) first time out boat hit 83.5 gps, 4 people, 3/4 tank of gas. Next time out, 1/4 tank gas, 2 people, saw mid 84's touching rev limiter here and there. Used mefi burn to turn up rev limiter to 5550, saw 85.1 gps a couple times on fumes, high 84's quite often. 700 feet above sea level (Michigan). Was idling in shallow water, ran over a unknown object DESTROYED the magic 30 labbed props, borrowed a unknow set of 30 labbed merc bravo's, boat wouldnt pull them past 5200 and wouldnt hit 83. I DO have the BBlades #'s off the wrecked props, boat loved them. Re-powering in a few months with 540s, hoping for mid 90's, Smitty

Can I get that number from you? And my 32s are at BBlades right now and after you give me the number I'll see if they can get me a set of the, "magic" 30s. Like I said I'm coming out swinging and I'll be running Chicago side of Lake Michigan.

Bb625/bb626, i talked to brad or brett brfore buying them in 2015, he said it hsd been quite a while since they were done BUT the guy i got them from had them on a shelf for years. I just know that what ever lab recipe he used on them worked real well. I had sorta lost faith in any bblades prop work after having 3 different props done for my old boat that sll lost speed compared to before sending them in BUT after using these i have a new gound respect for them, Smitty
