New Purchase / Need Help
 

Hello Scarab Boaters,
I just purchased a 1987 Scarab I (350), for lake hopping with the wife. I want to change the oil, filter and lower unit lube. The previous owner lost the manual, and I can't seem to find any of this information. Any info and recommendations would be appreciated. I don't mind spending extra money for better products. Thanks

We would need the specific information about your engine and drive system.

WIX 51069 or NAPA Gold 1069 Oil Filter (they are the same)
5 Quart Jug Mobil 1 15W-50 from Walmart ($22,88) - has enough zinc for you flat tappet cam

Wix 33226 or NAPA 3226 Fuel Filer/Water Separator (they are the same)

Mercruiser High Performance (not the Premium) Gear Lube. Alpha Drives only need 2 quarts. Can be found at most NAPA's and Walmart's.

What SB said and 2 extra 1 qt. bottles of same oil and get numbers from all belts and replace same.
Buy the drive oil filling tool (Walmart) and fill drive from bottom to top.
