I have a scarab 22 with the same engine. 454 310hp. I tried a few props and at the end of the day really you need more hp to go faster, I did use a Mercury revolution 4 blade 25P which really knock the rpm down for cruising and gave much better economy. I think these originally came with a 3 blade Mirage 23pitch.
