We can't forget about the twenty million dollar boat. There's some good shots in this video. If/when I make a video. I will not be dressed like Don Johnson. I'll have to get some young kid to play the part.

You're building the most recognizable offshore boat in existence, I think the pastel t-shirt and white sport coat, pants and sandals are required dress code to pilot the boat!

Sandals!? Don't you mean sockless feet with dockers? And don't forget the thin sock tie too.

I know outboards are more dependable, less service involved, more economical. More practical in all ways. BUT, the rumble of big block Chevrolets cancels all that sensible crap out. I like your boat flashgordon!

Ok here's some of my '79 Scarab 300 after we put 256 weiand blowers on the motors. These are the same motors I'll be running in the 38, except they're 496's now, different cams, and TBS 8:71's

On that boat we were running TRS, but I didn't know til the end that the left drive was not the same ratio as the right drive. Never could figure out why the left engine seemed less powerful that the right side, til after we got back from the bahamas when I broke the left u joint I decided to check the ratio on a whim and there was the answer to why the boat never seemed quite right. It would still run 70 with a wrong ratio outdrive. I'm hoping for mid 80's with the boat I'm building. Motors are supposed to be 650-725hp with arnesons.
Sorry larslindroth, I just remembered this thread is supposed to be 38' scarab videos, my bad.

Thank you for all the great videos. Always had Panteras but when I was a kid I remember these KV’s brand new at the marina and it was love at first site. Timeless design and still one of my favorites Reminds me of the classic offshore period and man I miss it. When the 70’s where flying and 80’s where rare territory. But they would run in crap these new 100mph boats only dream of
