Default Newbie things to watch for first time owner

I recently purchased an 88 Scarab 38 ... been a dream of mine to own a boat like this and now that my divorce has finalized and the monies divided ( I came out on Top by the way .. score one for the men!) I made this my first purchase... partly because I've always wanted one ... and to be honest... to piss the x off as well..lol. It was a project boat from the person I purchased it from and he managed to accomplish a lot of work. ... new engine, hull completely sanded and almost ready for primer, cockpit all upholstered and a plethora of other items. I would like to get off on the right foot with continuing this restoration project and would like to know if there are any known things I should be looking out for as I begin my project? Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
