21/22 scarab owners
 

looking at buying my first scarab, just wondering what kind of performance i can expect , and at what cost.....

That looks like a nice one on E-bay, I had a 1994 like that one, and it was a mid 60's boat, sold it in Sep 2000 for 19,500.00.

Hey you might look for a 1997-1999 23SCS 502EFI boat, kinda rare but what a ride. External steering, trim tabs left hand drive with controls in the center, this boat will turn a labbed 26" in the upper 70's. Sold this boat for 36,500.00 last August.

Does the Scarab SCS have drop out bolsters? Or sit down? Is the interior like the 22 Scarab?

I have a bone stock 1997 22 scarab, 454 bravo one with mirage 23P. I run it soley in the Ocean in So.Cal. Its usually rough out there but I get up to 65 when its smooth. I know it will do 65 easy on a lake. I love the boat but I want a Scarab 29 with twins for what im doing. Either that or a 28 Concept.

How can they call it ocean capable if it has swivel seats? Those things are harsh in the rough stuff. My back would be history in no-time.

True story ... However I slide mine back so I can stand. The wheel is also to low for standing long. Made for going low and fast I guess. :D

22 was my first SCARAB, built 454 ran 70 all day long :evilb:

Sold it to one of my friends who let it go for a while, and now has recently been fixing it up, started with the motor, thing ran 81.9 on GPS :eek: they had to change the prop make some other adjustments...he says the boat runs 75 now all day long.

I used that boat in the ocean 100% of the time I owned it, ran to Catalina here and there and once in the SCOPE Poker Run, got tossed around a few times, but there is no other boat in it's class that could perform and handle the same way :cool:

Depending on where you boat, you will love it, but you will want to step up after a few years :D

Everyone loves pics, here is a shot of the boat, it says boat and trailer not included in the pic because I was advertising the wheels for sale that were on the trailer :cool:

Thanks, 7.4 110S K-planes, I have dual hydrolic steering, but I haven't had time to install it. Mirage+ 25" in the pic but sometimes I use a Bravo. Doug

Anyone else own an orange 23' SCS. http://www.isphub.net/wayne/Scarab.htm I contacted Wellcraft and they say they only built 14 and only in 97'. I know one was blown up in the movie face off link to Chase http://www.isphub.net/wayne/Face_off-2.wmv
Anyone know of any others? Would be cool to know how many are still out there.

Hi,
since December I own a 22 myself bought it in Florida and shipped it to Germany - too bad our lakes are frozen now, but the sun will rise again and than it will take part in the only German Poker Run on the River Rhein.

Hello everyone, long time lurker first time poster. This is a great forum and filled with helpfull information!
If anyone is interested my 1998 22 is for sale. It looks exactly like the 22 Outrigger posted above or you can see it in the classified section of this web site.
and is in excellent condition! My wife is due with our first child in March and we need a cruiser. This boat has (at most) 200 hrs and is in excellent condition.
The Engine is a 454, 7.4 Litre Scarab 454 w/Thru Hull Corsa Stainless Steel Quick and Quite Exhaust Aprox 330 HP.
The Outdrive is a Bravo One with 3 blade Stainless Steel Prop. This boat runs fast and strong!
Dual Batteries with Switch, AM/FM/CD Stereo, Dash Mounted Magellan FX324 Color Navigation.
Comes with a 1998 Aluminum Magic Tilt Tandem Trailer in Excellent Condition! I have Boat Title in Hand so no waiting is needed!

The Marina I work at has a 1997 23 SCS for sale. It was the owner of the Marina's personal boat. It has less than 15 hours on it, and has always been stored in our large indoor facilty. It has the 454 Mag., external steering, and all the goodies they offered that year.( We were a Wellcraft Dealer). The boat is as new and we are ready to move it. Did you get a big improvement from adding the k-plates in rough water or on top speed stability

I own the same boat and trying to make the upholstery new. But i need the logo pictures on the Seats. (something like Scarab-Wellcraft Mix)
Is there any chance that you might have taken a piture from yours?

Hey Guys I Have A 23scs And Im Running A Bravo 26 And I Can Only Spin It 45 Or 4600 Rpm And I Was Thinking About Going To A 25 So I Could Spin It Harder And Maybe Pick Up A Little Mor Speed Im Running 75 On Gps What Do You Guys Think
