Do you need to re-torque the intake manifold every season? Where does it leak? As far as speed goes, probably going to get a little scary in the upper 70's. Need to balance everything just right. (Batteries, anchors, gear etc.) I run 74gps with a stock 502mpi and a worked 25p Mirage Plus at 4800rpm. Hope to pick up a little more with some prop tweaking.

i know the tank is behind that bulkhead, but it depends how close it actually is. i ripped out the floor, so i know the center compartment is larger than the tank itself. maybe the tank in your boat is far enough to the front so there´s a little space to gain there.

if you dont mind the extra work, you might rip out the floor, too, it is not too much work (lazily glassed and stapled to the stringers) and also move the tank and then the center section of that bulkhead forward. i poured polyurethane foam around the tank because it was only held in place by two wooden crossmembers which were already loose and i wasn´t comfortable thinking about what a full tank might do after a jump or something if it wasn´t properly held in place.

renewing the floor might be a good idea anyway, since the wood is poor quality and thin (what you might have noticed when you sit in one of the seats and try to rock around a little: the whole floorboard is moving).

games without frontiers...

Can you send me some pictures of this floor project if you took any? I have put mine up for the summer to do just this. Looking for some advice before I rip up the carpet.

e-mail as many pics as you want to send, no limits

Steve,

it's the intake itself that leak! when you take it out you will notice that it has two water stoppers, and the cyclinder heads has the water holes. Now the problem is that while running the engine the water will be hitting the aluminiun stopper and by time it will corrode, throwing the water bit by bit into the sump. All you have to do is to check it out every season, to check out that the stopper is not corroded.
