I want to put stand off boxes on my 92 - SCARAB 34.
I already have 2 inch shorter IMCO drives and it helped the handling greatly but only increased speed by about 2 MPH. Boat has 509's putting out about 600 HP each.
Best top speed to date is 77MPH GPS.

Scarabman, I have exactly the same setup as you do so let us hear what you end up with. Could use some more mph.

Tinkerboater, You mentioned that puting the shorty drives helped the handling. What issues were you having before the shorty drives. As of now I have no complaints with handling other than its not fast enough. It really feels like the boat could handle alot more MPH's.

I didnt know there were scarabs in europe. thats cool. Hows the top end on your scarab. I'm just wondering if the kevlar makes that much of a differance.

As with most boats when you hit a rogue wave when you are trimed out and going WOT the bow will go up. With the shorter drives the boat flies flat. Goes up flat and comes down almost flat. Cuts the waves - doesn't slam. Handling in BAD chop is very predictable.

Yep, some Scarabs have found their way to the Nordics too. Mine is running (very) low 60's, haven't checked with GPS yet. Just busted a water pump and knowing the spare parts logistics up here it might take a while to get a exact reading.
