Thereīs people here that restore gauges but itīs not worth the price actually, the ones on the Finnish boat is VDOīs so unfortunately the original ones are also shot so no, canīt help you with that.
Iīd love to get hold of the genuine gauges too although they should be ordinary Merc gauges from one of the series they made. The camera boat is in good use in one of the episodes where they are on a stakout in a boatshed. Yes I would also like to see more of these plaques up close. Apparently the TV-company added these plaques to boost the prices in the auction. not sure if that was true The gauges were Medallion Industries I replaced all of mine with new ones from the manufacturer back in the early nineties company is now called Kysor Medallion Still the coolest boat i ever owned |
Miami vice Scarab
Good deal Randy,
We sea striled the boat last fall and all went well save a guage or two inop. no important ones tough. Boat runs about 70 GPS mph. Faster than when new. Talk to you later Jim |

When you come back for the sea trial I'll bring the beer :D Ray and his dad have always taken really good care of that boat, but it has done a lot of sitting for the past couple of years. I have always figured at some point the time and price would work out and I'd pick it up. Guess not now. If you were down by our community marina my Formula and Old School's Cig are parked right next to each other. |
