Default My new Larry Smith 38

I just picked this up. Been looking for 2 years and found nothing but basket cases until this one. Needs a few things but they are all small fixes.

Ran it twice so far and does 80mph at 4200rpm cruise. Not sure of top end yet.

Details:
1989 Larry Smith 38'
All kevlar, never a race boat.
Originally sold to Mickey Mills in Texas. (I think)
Bobby Moore rigged.
Twin Staggered 705ci All aluminum Donovan's, Naturally aspirated. 10:1 compression.
750hp on pump gas
Speedmaster #5's with Huber 1450 trans.
102mph (not confirmed yet)
Six pack cockpit. No cabin.

hopefully these pics come through OK.

never seen a 38 like this. is it a Viper (like the 31's)? Attach some shots of the cockpit, engine room etc... for us to see.

Good looking boat!

It is a "Larry Smith" version. This is built by the Scarab race team, not Wellcraft. Wellcraft lisensed the Scarab name as well as some hull designs from Larry Smith.

Jody,
awesome boat. It has to sound killer with those motors.
A local guy here has one for sale , 96-97 staggered 1000s with boxes and crash boxes. It used to run the poker run circuit with an all woman team.

What does he want for the boat? Is it the Wellcraft Poker Run boat? 6 pack seating?

Jody,
Yes it has 6 pack seating , we always called it the "stars and stripes" boat. I don't recall the price but it seemed fair. I can post a number to reach th owner tommorrow.
