I have outdrive #'s 6820777 & 6832989, which I belive are II series outdrives on a 1986 Scarab III.
The Starboard outdrive has a lot of play in the steering. I am told that this is due to wear at the top where the steering rod attaches to the outdrive in the bellhousing.
The question is are there any fixes for it without taking the whole unit apart, again I have been told that there are fixes for some of the other models where you may drill holes into the top sides of the outdrive to effect reapirs.
Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know where I amy enter serial numbers to find or confirm the model of my engines or outdrives
Thanks
