Default Don Johnson vs. Reggie Fountain

Is anyone familiar with the '84 race, "East vs. West" where Reggie Fountain raced Don Johnson? What boats were involved? Pics?

Thanks- Bryan

Hi Rick: Im sure you
know the Don Johnson
43ft Scarab.
I did a conversion
from race to pleasure boat for Steve in Ventura.
I don't wave the Scarab flag anymore.
And half the people
on this board were
still in dipers in
1984.
So how you been.

then, why did you ask which boats were involved?

Are you, one of "those" kind of guys... or, one of "those" kind of guys?

Thanks for the clarification! It'll be interesting to hear how the race went. Good luck in your search.

Bryan, I would like
to hear about any
information of this
SO CALLED East/West
race between reggie
and Don J. in 1984.
I racked what brain
I have left trying
to recall anything
like that.
I even called the
OLD Professor Warren
Robbins VP at scarab
and he said the same
thing "There was never a race between
them, They were at
a lot of races at the same time and both raced.
If there was a race
I hope you get some
info.
OH Don did run one
of Tom Gentrys boats
also in 1984.
But it was not in a 10 meter Boat????

As soon as I get ahold of Fountain and get the scoop, I'll let you know what I know.

Maybe it's one of those urban legends, 'cept on the water. Like maritime legend...
