My 38 is Gone...
#1
Time to say farewell to the Scarab Owner Posting Thread. Just sold my 99 38' (Brian, enjoy it! You got a great boat!). It was more painful seeing it go down the highway than I thought. NEED A NEW ONE FAST!!!!
If anyone has a connection on a 40 Formula SS, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Getting out of the go-fasts for a year or two. Hopefully Scarab will be making 38's again when I'm ready for another "One of them cigar boats!"

Between you and me Joe I can't understand why you wanted to sell it. I think I would opt for that Scarab over a Formula. Not to bash but that is just me.
Good luck in your boat hunt
Take care

Jeff,
Thanks. I really liked the boat. I'd ask you to tell Brian to take extra good care of it, but I hear he's even more anil, I mean particular, than me!
Post pic's of the new paint job when he's done... If Brian doesn't post them first!

Joe, You would make for a very good formula owner because we are all anal about our boats, I did not get much of a chance to talk to brian at the launch, He and kirsten was trying to get it in for there maiden voyage and the yard was a joke with all the boats trying to launch, what colors scheme was he planning? Why did you sell your boat? and are you looking to go to more of a family boat and that is why you are considering the Formula SS? Just curious, Jeff

Jeff,
No idea of the paint job... however, he did say he DIDN"T like the current paint. I think we just have different tastes. He says it's going to be something wild! So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Yes, looking for something still trailerable (barely), and can go offshore in Florida etc.., but a little more creature comforts for the Wife-to-be.
...and answering your next question - Nope, she's not pregonate! :-) A couple friends of mine at Lake Travis (where I do a lot of boating) have the 40SS's and I've always liked'em. Fast enough to get you from point a to b, yet, nicer inside, similar to a cruiser.
With that being said... If a stellar deal comes across on a go-fast, I would consider it. I've been thinking a lot of a 43 Nor-Tech w/ 700 EFI's. But... still thinking. It's a lot of $$$ and I'm not sure if I'd be able to sell it if I wanted a cruiser. That's a fairly small crowd, and most buy new at that size.
