Question Advice,,,please

I am torn between two boats that I am very interested in
(1) First boat is a 1994 Cig Cafe' Racer w/ blower motors and some really nice extras engines have about 170 hours on them <Nice boat in fact it is in the classified section. price $129,000.00
(2) Second boat is a 99' Scarab 38 foot w/ 500 hps w/ the 65 hp upgrade, engines have 35 hours on them once agian this boat is really, really nice it is the boat on the Boostpower site the purple and yellow boat.Price $139,500.00
My problem is with Wellcraft,, since the Scarab line is know longer available what happens to resale? what about hull problems and other manufacturing issues? I fear the blower motors my be a mantaince beast,, and I fear that the Scarab my be a pink elephant,, so your input would be helpfull.

Lets see ,,where do I start. ,,,The Cafe is a great boat, hold value better according to year compared to the Scarab. I have been researching the boats for 3 years now. I have seen the Cafe your looking at. Nice baot, but a little pricey for 94. I'm sure its clean, but you would never get your money out of it in resale for that price. The Cafe rides great and is rock solid in the rough stuff. I personally am switching from Scarab to Cigarette for resale value.

Everyone has thier own agenda for the reason for buying. The Scarab on the other hand is a bad ass boat, but if its not an AVS hull, your spinning your wheels. Their will be a ride difference but not by much due to the boats both weighing so much. I rode in a 97 HP 500's, it crushes the big stuff. Thats not a bad price for a 99. You will have more room in the 38. I'm buying a older Top Gun next year. But, I have my own reason for buying. This would be due to the fact the Cigarette line when you get to older models are not too far from each other on price when your wagering between a 35 Cafe or 38 Top Gun. In this instance to me more boat for about the same money.

I'm sure I have left something out...but to me,, its all in what your looking for. You have 2 good names your looking at which in the end will still hold reasonable resale value in the end.

Good luck in your search! Take your time and don't rush things.

I was looking at the 99 ,,,Any info on the problems with the 99. I did notice the price was kinda low for a 99,,so i thought there might be something to it.
